The Way of Sudden Awakening shows common ordinary people how to directly access the Source of wisdom and compassion within and to Awaken by recognizing the True Nature of your own mind. The approach is one of utilizing your inborn Awareness in an atmosphere of wise guidance and compassionate support.

Original Zen, Early Ch'an or Ekayana, the Way of Sudden Awakening, is a non-traditional Buddhist tradition. It is spontaneous, lively and thoroughly modern while at the same time possessing a rich treasure of ancient tradition, lineage and wisdom.

Our website is designed not to convert anyone or to sell you a particular path or a particular product. Instead, the purpose of this website is to make the Way of Sudden Awakening available for those who are seeking a sudden way or approach to Enlightenment, Liberation or Awakening. This is what we are offering. We want to form a connection to those who are looking for it, so that we can transfer this Dharma of the Way of Sudden Awakening.

• If you have read the Ancient Original Zen Masters such as Hui-neng, Huang-po or Bankei for example, and you have always wanted that type of teaching, that type of way and that Freedom – then you are in luck, because you have landed at the right spot.

Although we have tapes available, we are not trying to sell them to anyone. They really are a resource just for those who are already students of the Way of Sudden Awakening and who are involved in the Teachings. However, if you would like to get a taste of what this Teaching is about, you are welcome to get our tapes as well as take a look at our recommended reading list.

We avoid the extremes of endless practice as well as just being one of the current faddish places that declare everyone who wants to do multilevel marketing of that path, as enlightened. We are neither one. Instead, the Way of Sudden Awakening or Ekayana is a non-traditional Buddhist tradition, which is as appropriate for sincere seekers of Awakening today as it was throughout the centuries.

Our average students grow more in the first year with the Way of Sudden Awakening, than they have in ten years of their previous spirituality. And the Awakened students here are every bit as deep as the original teachers of Ch'an (Original Zen).
